University Farm Circle (UFC) upcoming events

Newcomer's Welcome (September 16, 2026)

Welcome to the official start of the University Farm Circle year. This informal event will allow you to meet other Newcomers while enjoying snacks and beverages. In addition to the social time there will be a short presentation by some UFC Board Members to give you information about UFC, the Newcomers Group, the Interest Groups, and to answer your questions. After the presentation, you will have the opportunity to sign up for any of the more than 70 Interest Groups that UFC has to offer (anything from wine or beer tasting, pickleball, mahjong, hiking, painting, lunch or coffee meet-ups etc.). You will be able to register to become a member of UFC and pay your dues if you haven't already done so. Please feel free to bring a friend that might be interested in joining UFC. We look forward to seeing you there!

Fall Welcome Reception (September 16, 2026)

The UFC Board and Fall Welcome Committee invite you to attend our Fall Welcome. This is an opportunity to gather with old and new friends, to renew your membership if you haven't already done so, and to sign up for Interest Sections. There will be a brief presentation at 11:30 A.M. in the UU Sanctuary. At 12:15 P.M. doors will open to allow sign-ups for Interest Sections. There will be refreshments provided.

Sacramento Murals Walk (October 01, 2026)

Join us on a walking tour of Sacramento's thriving outdoor art scene. An art walk to tour the different murals is a fun way to experience public art and explore Sacramento! Your guide from Fleet Feet Sacramento will share their knowledge about each mural and the artists that painted it. The walk will be approximately 1.5 to 2 miles in length and will be under two hours in duration. Following the walk, we will enjoy a no host lunch at the nearby Fox and Goose Restaurant.

Carpool meets at 8:30 A.M. at the Target Parking Lot (in front of TJ Maxx). Self-drivers meet at 7th and R Streets in Sacramento at 9:15 A.M for check-in. Tour starts at 9:30 A.M.

Science, Service and Serendipity: One Scientist's Journey from HIV Research to Global Change (October 15, 2026)

Dr. Koen Van Rompay invites you on a remarkable journey through his life and work. As an infectious disease researcher at UC Davis, he developed interventions now used worldwide in the fight against HIV. In 1997, a transformative trip to India inspired him to found the nonprofit organization Sahaya International, which supports programs across developing nations. Through his story, Dr. Van Rompay illustrates how each of us can create powerful ripple effects - and discover a sense of purpose and possibility - by daring to step beyond our comfort zones.

Sonoma Bus Trip: di Rosa Contemporary Art Museum, Lunch and Shopping (October 29, 2026)

Join us as we travel to the Napa/Sonoma areas to visit the di Rosa Art Museum and enjoy some time in Sonoma. After the museum tour, the bus will take us to the Sonoma Plaza where you can enjoy shopping and lunch on your own. Register early for this program and get ready to enjoy a lovely fall trip.

Meet at 8:15 AM at Target shopping center in front of Round Table Pizza, 4551 2nd St, Davis. Bus leaves promptly at 8:30 AM.

Experience Beautiful Capay Valley at Taber Ranch Winery (November 06, 2026)

We will carpool through scenic rolling countryside to Capay Valley where we will enjoy outdoor covered seating for a light lunch of artisanal pizza and salad. Six Taber Ranch wines will be poured for us to taste. After lunch, we will have the opportunity to stroll under the row of olives trees and enjoy the peaceful outdoors.

If you are carpooling with us, please meet at the parking lot next to Big 5 Sporting Goods at the Marketplace Shopping Center in North Davis at 10 a.m. For those not joining the carpool, meet us at Taber Ranch's parking lot at 11 a.m.
