Have you wanted to find your roots? Do you wonder when your grandparents immigrated from Europe or Asia or Africa or South America? Local genealogist and family historian, Reem Awad-Rashmawi, JD, will share ideas on how to collect these stories in person or through distance interviews.
In the 1980’s, Reem began researching her family history and documenting it through oral history and photography. After practicing Immigration Law for over 20 years, Reem decided to reduce her caseload and seriously pursue her interest in genealogy and documenting family histories. While continuing to represent immigrants on a limited basis, she has completed a certificate program in genealogy research through Boston University and is presently participating in ProGen 49 to work toward her Genealogy Certification. Reem is the Vice President and Program Committee Chair of the Davis Genealogy Club and co-coordinates its DNA Study Group. Please join us for this informative talk.
