Rediscovering Yolo County's Food, Wine and Agriculture

  • April 19, 2021
  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Zoom Meeting

The Organic Farmer's Market, Farm-to-Fork dining, and the Slow Food Movement stem from the agricultural bounty found in Yolo County. Ann Evans and Georgeanne Brennan were instrumental in getting Yolo County national recognition as a fine producer of organically and sustainably produced food and wine. Yolo County's food, wine and agriculture are now well-recognized as important contributors to the farm-to-table movement, but that wasn't always the case. Join Ann Evans and Georgeanne Brennan for tales of their early and pioneering years of work. Ann Evans wrote the award-winning The Davis Farmers Market Cookbook, started the Village Feast, and served as mayor of Davis, California. Georgeanne Brennan is an award-winning author or many cookbooks, a chef, and a cooking instructor. She is active in the Slow Food Movement and was formerly a co-leader of the Slow Food Yolo Chapter.

Deadline to register: April 9, 2021
