WELCOMING A NEW UFC SEASON IN 2021 – 2022

As we prepare to welcome a new season of University Farm Circle, there is good reason to be hopeful that the year ahead will bring back a sense of normalcy. Won’t it be wonderful to meet with our interest sections and rekindle the friendships we’ve missed so much? As we turn our attention to a fresh new year, we are making plans to begin gathering again to experience the joy of reconnecting.

While we plan for the future, we are grateful for all of the work that was done this year to strengthen UFC so that we can fully engage in moving forward. We have solidified our relationship with UC Davis as an official support group and have created official documents for our scholarship program for the first time. We have created a new, more powerful website, allowing us to eliminate paperwork and accomplish more of our administrative functions with the push of a button. Most importantly, we have started planning for in-person section meetings, activities, and programs.

Our in-person Scholarship Reception and Fall Welcome will be smaller this year. It will be held outdoors at the Moss Patio, behind the Buehler Alumni Center on October 7th. Our scholarship recipients will be creating short videos which will be posted on our website, so that those of you who are unable to attend in person will have the opportunity to hear and appreciate the exemplary students who have received our awards. The Program Committee has been creative in planning events in our local area within driving distance. While an indoor Candlelight Dinner may not be possible, we are planning a festive event that will bring holiday joy.

As is true every year, our accomplishments in 2020 – 2021, as well as our plans for the future, depend on many members who give their time and talent to ensure that UFC continues its long tradition of Friendship, Enrichment, and Scholarships. We are thankful for every one of them!
